Historical Visit P2
Welcome back to my blog! It's been a little bit since I've been on here but I'm glad to be back! For this week blog, we got to visit another historical site, and I'm glad I went earlier during the week because right now the location I chose to go to is completely flooded by Hurricane Nicole :( I chose to go to the very well known, Castillo De San Marcos National Monument in St. Augustine. On November 3rd, my best friend, Grayson and her dog, Cooper and I went to adventure the Castillo De San Marco. The weather was absolutely beautiful, it was a little windy but very clear skies it was a beautiful day to explore some of Saint Augustine's oldest treasure. "The oldest masonry fort in the continental United States, the Castillo de San Marcos is a large Spanish stone fortress built to protect and defend Spain's claims in the New World. It's a National Monument and, at over 315 years old, it's the oldest structure in St. Augustine. It's also one of the main attractions visitors to St. Augustine come to see" says VisitStAugustine.com. I have lived in Florida my entire life and I've also been to many field trips to the Castillo de San Marcos in each time has been a true experience. It is so cool to get to walk around in tore a place that holds so much history so close to where I've lived my entire life. Grayson, Cooper, and I spent probably a good hour hour and a half exploring around the fort. Overall, we had a great time exploring the beautiful Castillo de San Marcos of St. Augustine! Also, let's please keep in mind those who houses and also all of the historical places that are now flooded due to Hurricane Nicole ☺
