Course Reflection

Welcome to my last blog... 😢
First, I would like to say I hope you guys have enjoyed my blog entrees during this class, as for me it has been so much fun to do!
Over the span of the semester I have enjoyed diving deeper into the history of Florida. It has really opened my eyes to all of the amazing and historical things that have happened in the state I've lived in my entire life that I had no idea about until I took this class. I'm so thankful now that I am much more knowledgeable in my home state history. It was so interesting to learn about the history that happened so close to my home, in the St. Johns River with William Bartram; I find it so cool to learn about the history where you live. This is really opened my eyes to history in general and has made me want to learn more about the history around me.
This class has not only taught me about the amazing history of Florida but it has also promoted my critical thinking while reading/researching and completing all of the assignments in this class. This class has taught me to expand my thoughts and put them into descriptive critical writings about all the people we have learned about in this class. Throughout the class we have talked about multiple well-known historians, and it is so important to use critical thinking to be able to describe them and their role in history accordingly.
Lastly, this class has also taught me how to fully dive in and understand the historians to which we were learning about. There are so many historians throughout all of history and it's hard to cover all of them and fully grasp their true stories. It is very important to do research on your historian in this class has taught me how to research and find out all of the information I need to know, while also referencing and citing correctly. This class has taught me how to gather information about a certain person and be able to put it in a grammatically correct format. It is so important to use all of these tools such as critical thinking, research, relevance, descriptions, and listening skills, and many more while learning about historians in this class has done that for me.
Overall, This class has been an amazing experience. It's been challenging at times but I genuinely feel like overall this class has done me well and I'm leaving this class with more knowledge then I thought I'd ever know about my home state, Florida.
Thank you all for following me on my blogging journey and I wish you all the best in your futures! 💟
